Carmel College

Carmel College was founded in 1957 by the Sisters of Mercy to provide education for girls on Auckland’s North Shore. The school is set on the edge of Lake Pupuke with excellent facilities and environment in Milford. Carmel College offers every opportunity for girls to obtain a broad, academically challenging education. This education is founded on the gospel values of the Catholic faith, interlaced with cultural and sporting opportunities.

We are a Catholic girl’s college, for Years 7 to 13, situated on the shores of Lake Pupuke, in Milford, on Auckland’s North Shore. The Carmel learning community is committed to educating and developing young Catholic women who will always strive for excellence in all their academic, sporting and cultural endeavours. We actively encourage these young women to participate in a wide range of activities and there is an expectation of service, especially for the poor and marginalised; that they will see the need and make the difference and walk the talk of Mercy. We know that when we enrol your daughter as part of our learning community, she comes to us with all the values and attributes from her family. Carmel College offers our students the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) qualification for which we have a reputation for academic excellence. In the New Zealand Ministry of Education analysis of NCEA results, Carmel College students at Levels 1, 2 and 3 perform consistently better than the National average.

The Learning Support Team at Carmel College offer classroom and individual support to students who had been identified as having different learning needs. They also provide assistance for teachers who request more help with individualised programmes in their classroom.

Carmel College is only 15 minutes away from Auckland CBD. Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city. Carmel College lies on the shores of Lake Pupuke in one of Auckland’s most desirable areas – the North Shore. We have many beautiful beaches, bush walks, cafes and shops in close proximity.
