SCHOOL INTRODUCTION

Established in 1902 to meet the skills required by New Zealand businesses, Universal College of Learning (UCOL) has strong community connections. It partners with local businesses to provide work experience for many of the students studying diplomas, degrees and postgraduate programmes to help an organisation meet their staffing needs, solve a problem or advance a project. 

UCOL is a modern institute of technology and polytechnic with specialty in Applied Engineering and Trades, Health and Sciences, and Humanities and Business. All UCOL programmes are government approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), the government agency responsible for quality assurance of qualifications and are internationally recognised.

UCOL offers the full suite of New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) programmes, all NZQA approved. UCOL is also a TOEFL iBT testing centre.
